Our Program

Moline Youth Football & Cheer encompasses playing and cheering opportunities for 3rd through 12th grade. This site primarily provides information for the Jr. Maroons program.

Jr. Maroons Football & Cheer is a co-ed tackle football and cheerleading program for grades 3-6 that helps teach teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Football divisions are made up of 3rd/4th graders and 5th/6th graders, while cheerleading supports and enhances the program through school spirit and skill-building. The teams and cheer squads compete and perform within the Illinois metro Quad Cities, including games against East Moline (U.T), Rock Island, and Alleman. Both football players and cheerleaders begin learning the framework and fundamentals of the Moline system.

Challenger Flag Football is a fully inclusive program designed for special needs student-athletes. It provides a supportive and fun environment for participants to grow mentally, physically, and emotionally while building confidence and teamwork through the game of football.

Values and foundational skills are further reinforced in the middle school programs at John Deere Middle School and Wilson Middle School (grades 7 & 8). These programs continue to support the mental, physical, and emotional development of participants.

The program culminates in the athletes’ final years in the Moline Football & Cheer program (grades 9-12). By this stage, participants have likely mastered many drills, routines, and concepts of the system. The Moline Maroons compete in the Western Big Six conference within IHSA play.
